A Comic Review: Batman & Captain America
You know, it’s not good for the soul to read too many dark and serious comics. Reading about the monstrous side of humanity and bleak, miserable endings over and over again can make anyone depressed. You start thinking too much in the shower and keep yourself cooped up at home. It makes matters worse when the outside world is just as bad. After a while, it just becomes draining, white noise.
Fortunately, I have the temporary cure for what ails you, my dudes!
Batman & Captain America was a DC/Marvel crossover published in 1997 as an Elseworlds story. It was written and illustrated by John Byrne with colors by Patricia Mulvihill. Byrne is a seasoned vet in the comics industry, with a bibliography too long to list here (but I’ll try to summarize). He’s been with DC and Marvel working on Uncanny X-Men, Superman, and Sensational She-Hulk. On the other hand, Mulvihill has primarily stuck with DC as a colorist for Batman, Gotham Girls, and Wonder Woman.
