The Amazon (a review)
One of my favorite things to do in conventions is to sift through the long boxes of clearance comics. Most of the stuff you’ll find in there are usually the “unimportant” issues from older superhero runs or comics from forgotten publishers long out of business. Still, comic books for 25₵ a piece is pretty awesome considering how expensive single issues are now-a-days. And I just love that old book smell.
About a year ago, I managed to score a lot of these clearance comics along with completed series that were bundled together in one sleeve. (For those comic shop owners who do this with your back-issues, you’re the real MVPs.) Unfortunately, I had sell back much of my take to downsize/get my money back (personal stuff). When I got to today’s comic, I was on the edge about giving it up because the covers looked cool and the art look good yet somewhat familiar. Then I opened to the inner cover page, saw Tim Sale’s name on the list of creators, and was like “yep, you’re staying with me!”
