A Rundown of the Soulfinder series (so far)

Confession time: I don’t follow up on all the comic series that I start. I’ll give anything a fair shake but sometimes, I’ll drop a series after the first or second volume for a number of reasons. Either the writer can’t keep up the momentum they built in the first issue or the hinted mysteries turn into plot-holes or the art goes to crap. There’s a lot that can go wrong in a series which is why I generally prefer one-shot comics/graphic novels. However, there is one series that I’ve been keeping up with for a while now that some of my long-time followers have seen me mention before.

Allow to introduce you to the Soulfinder series.

Soulfinder is an ongoing comic series written by Douglas Ernst and debuted in 2019. It was originally a crowdfunded book but was later picked up by Iconic Comics, who also publish Kamen America and Black Hops. I came across the review for it by Just Some Guy back in the day and I wanted to check it out. I legit had to email Ernst to get my copy and thought he was a pleasant dude from that brief interaction.

Now, because the releases of these books are sporadic, my reviews for them are buried in my backlog. I know how tedious…
