Comics I’ve been reading (pt. 4)
Hey, it’s been a while.
All the financial stuff I’ve been worrying about has been taken care of and I’ve managed to stock up on food just in case society collapses in the next few months. Life is good.
Anyways, let’s look at some comics.
Heaven’s Door: Extra Works
Amazon had been recommending me this one for a while and when I finally read the summary, it promised a “sci-fi manga collection of psychedelic stories”. That sounded exactly like the head trip s*** I’m into so I got it, and I was not disappointed.
As the summary explained, this manga is a collection of short stories by Keiichi Koike that vary in insanity levels. You’ve got astral projects, drugs, robots, and other crazy technologies that one can only dream of. My favorites were “Lazarus Franco’s 4 a.m.” and “3000 Leagues in search of Mother” because of the crazy visuals and the interesting characters. The art style is not something you would expect from a manga but in a good way; it gave me serious Heavy Metal vibes.
