ISOM #1 (a review)

Hey look! A comic book that’s been deemed controversial solely because of what its writer has said in passing and not due to the actual content!

ISOM: Ill-Advised pt. 1 is the first comic released by Rippaverse Comics. It’s a brand-new indie comic line that was founded by the author Eric D. July, a.k.a YoungRippa59 on YouTube. He’s been on the internet for over a decade doing many different things, including being the vocalist for the band BackWordz. The artist for this book is Cliff Richards and was colored by Gabe Eltabe, both of whom have been in the comics industry for some time.

I doubt any of my normie friends and family will have heard of this book, but it has caused quite the kerfuffle in the comic community. Allow me to quickly explain so we can get this out of the way because the reason for all the excitement is, in my humble opinion, really stupid.

You see, Mr. July’s YouTube channel is centered around politics and pop culture, and he’s talked a lot about his grievances with today’s “woke”/ “progressive” comics.
