On Living Alone
One of the main topics I see get brought up a lot in the dating discourse is the ever-present fear of being alone. There’s a lot of doom and gloom around the concept of living alone or having to exist in life alone. On the flip side, I also see TikToks of people gloating about how amazing it is to live alone. They boast about how they get to do whatever they want, decorate their space however they want, and, most importantly, that they get the entire bed to themselves.
Speaking as someone who’s lived alone in a one-bedroom apartment for two and a half years, it’s all very confusing to me. Both sides seem to be exaggerated by a lot so I’ve decided to write about my own real-life experience of what it’s like. After all, if you want to know what a specific life experience is like, it’s best to consult someone currently living that experience.
I guess I’ll start by getting the obvious one out of the way.
Yes, you do get to decide how to decorate your space and what kinds of fun you can have in it; it’s pretty sweet.
