I know what you’re thinking. “Why did it take you this long to get to an Alan Moore book?” Well, I’m kind of wondering that myself. And I know what your second question is going to be. “Why on Earth are you reviewing this series out of all the other important stuff that Alan Moore has done?” Well, I’m weird.

If you’re new to comic books, I cannot stress enough how much of a literary juggernaut Alan Moore is to the medium of comic books. Alan Moore is basically the guy who kicked off the British Invasion of American comic books back in the mid/late 80s and the godfather of the dark and gritty realism wave, along with Frank Miller, that the comics industry is still trying to ride.

He started his career in the mid-70s doing comic strips for magazines like 2000AD and Warriors then was brought over to do American comics. Since then, he has penned some of the most important books in comics history such as Watchmen, V for Vendetta, The Killing Joke, From Hell, his run on Swamp Thing, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and many, many more. He’s also known for having a little bit of bad blood with the big two due to contract issues and generally being screwed over.

And how better can I display this man’s talent than by reviewing a goofy serial he did back in the late 80s that would have been forgotten by modern fans had it not been republished.
